You may find yourself hitting a wall while working on your project. No ideas are coming to mind, no words are flowing from your fingertips or you are just in a mental fog. It happens to most writers at some point. Here are a few ideas to get those creative juices flowing again;
Write something else. Sometimes just the process of writing will foster ideas on your project. Write a to do list. Write a haiku. If you typically write on the computer, write with pen and paper.
People watch. Go to your favorite coffee shop and observe. Go to an area of your city there is a lot of foot traffic and slowly walk around. Observing people can foster ideas for the characters in your book and can potentially produce some great dialogue for your project.
Get creative. Go to a paint and sip. Go to your favorite place and take photos. Take a pottery class. Rearrange your bedroom or living room. Activities like this will allow you to take a mental break from your project and potentially spark new ideas.
We hope these tips help you get back writing. What have you done to overcome your writer's block?
