Writing and being a writer can be lonely. Writing demands extended periods of time working on your project, often alone to limit distractions. It can also be lonely if the people in your circle are not writers, are not avid readers or if they are not supportive.
One of the ways to combat this is joining a writing community. There are communities around a variety of topics and for a variety of demographics.
One of our favorites is the Kevin Powell's Writing Workshop series. There are interviews with renowned authors from all walks of life and a monthly Friday Night Writes series. This series is a group of writers getting together via Zoom to write. Prompts are provided, if needed. Otherwise everyone is heads down, writing for an hour and a half while soothing music is playing. The last half hour is set aside in case anyone wants to share the project they are working on and ask for feedback. You can join the community here.
